The Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) certification covers a comprehensive body of knowledge that sets the global standard for best practices in logistics, transportation, and distribution.

As supply chains evolve and expand, APICS members are becoming more involved in logistics, transportation and distribution functions. This certification program addresses the growing need for training, knowledge, and expertise within the field of logistics and transportation. The APICS CLTD designation will equip individuals and teams with the essential knowledge to reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction and achieve recognition as a logistics expert.

The CLTD designation will help you:

APICS has established prerequisites in order to sit for the certification exam.

  • 3 years of related business experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree or the international equivalent*, OR

  • Hold one of the following professional designations: CPIM, CTL, CSCP, CFPIM, CIRM, SCOR-P, C.P.M., CSM or CPSM

APICS defines the international equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree as the level of study that would qualify an individual for a graduate program in the country where the undergraduate degree was earned.

 

CLTD Program Overview

To earn the CLTD certification, you must master each of the following:

  • Logistics and Supply Chain Overview

  • Capacity Planning and Demand Management

  • Order Management

  • Inventory and Warehouse Management

  • Transportation

  • Global Logistics Considerations

  • Logistics Network Design

  • Reverse Logistics and Sustainability

 

Exam format

  • Eight modules with an exam that reflects critical areas in logistics, transportation, and distribution

  • 3.5-hour exam

  • 150 multiple-choice questions administered through Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide
